Chestnut cake
After a Sunday afternoon walk in the woods,
is there anything better than a piece of chestnut cake?
This recipe dates back to my childhood, some of you certainly know it. I sometimes make it for Christmas in the shape of a log.
You will need
850 g chestnut purée
170 g melted chocolate with one or two tablespoons warm water
200 g melted butter
one egg yolk
7 tablespoons caster sugar
For the frosting
200 g melted chocolate
1 dl double cream (crème fraîche)
Mix well all the ingredients (I used the mixer) and pour the mixture into a prepared loaf tin. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Unmould the cake and make the frosting : mix 200 g melted chocolate with 10 dl double cream.
Spread the frosting over the top of the cake.
Serve very cold
