Enchanting Break

Nous sommes partis deux mois, dans un gîte près d'Annecy. De la fenêtre de la cuisine, un spectacle différent nous attendait chaque matin.

We were gone for two months, staying at a holiday cottage. Through the window, the view was different every morning.

Tout ça, c'était en mai, car en juin, cela ressemblait à ça (presque) tous les jours:

Cerise sur le gâteau, le soir, à l'horizon, toujours vu de la fenêtre, le ciel prenait parfois les couleurs d'un volcan en éruption.

Sherry on the cake, still through the kitchen window, the sky line at night sometimes took the colours of an erupting volcano.

L'intérieur du gîte n'était pas mal non plus, on s'y est senti tout de suite chez nous. Il faut bien ça pour un séjour de deux mois.

Inside was nice too. We felt at home at once, which is quite necessary for a two-month stay.

Notez bien au passage la baignoire du prince dans sa salle de bain toute bleue. Il y a une pièce de douche pour les autres.

Voici le salon dans lequel vous attend un monsieur très important, le petit prince de la famille, six mois et deux dents au début du séjour, huit mois et six dents à la fin. Nous sommes venus passer du temps ici pour le garder, pour soulager un peu sa maman, car on a beau être le plus gentil et le plus souriant des petits princes, on demande beaucoup d'attention et d'énergie (vous savez ce que c'est). 

Here is the living room where a VIP is waiting to be introduced to you (I mean those of you who haven't met him yet). Six months old and two teeth at the beginning of our stay, eight months old and six teeth at the end. In fact we came here to look after him and relieve his mum, because, as you know, in spite of being the nicest, sweetiest and most adorable baby, he requires a lot of attention and energy.

Les alentours du gîte nous ont ravis chaque jour, cela nous change de notre rue en "presque" région parisienne.

The surroundings were an everyday delight, it was a change from our street in the Parisian suburbs.

Partout la montagne, belle dans la lumière

And everywhere the mountain, beautiful in the light

mais belle aussi cachée au milieu des nuages. On aperçoit la pointe des sapins.

 Voici un bébé qui découvre le monde

Here is a baby in the middle of discovering the world

 au point parfois de ne plus savoir où en donner de la tête

sometimes up to the point of no longer knowing where to look

Au Monoprix d'Annecy, j'ai feuilleté un magazine et j'ai eu la surprise d'y découvrir la maison de Moun! Oups, j'ai achèté sans hésitation (le magazine, pas la maison)

At the Annecy Monoprix, I leafed through a magazine and was surprised to find an article about Moun's house. Oups, I bought it (the magazine, not the house)

Cela m'a fait penser à vous, mes chères copinautes et fidèles lectrices. Vous m'avez manqué et suis contente de vous retrouver.

That reminded me of you, my dear blog friends and readers. I missed you and I am glad to be back.

Un séjour inoubliable par la nature environnante, ce gîte superbe...et un bout de choux trop mignon ! Bises
