Thomas Hardy

 En ce moment, je lis Tess of the d'Ubervilles. Ce merveilleux roman est le plus connu de Thomas Hardy, grâce au film.

Il a écrit d'autres chefs-d'oeuvre que je vous recommande:

Jude the Obscure. (Jude l'Obscur).

The Mayor of Casterbridge. (Le maire de Casterbridge).

Far from the Madding Crowd. (Loin de la foule déchaînée).

Il a dépeint comme nul autre la vie dans la campagne anglaise à la fin du XIXième siècle. Les personnages sont tragiques et inoubliables et les histoires pleines de rebondissements.

At the moment, I am reading Tess of the d'Ubervilles. This marvelous novel is Thomas Hardy's best known book thanks to the film.

No one could depict better than he did life in the English countryside at the end of the XIXth century. His characters are tragic and unforgettable, and the stories are full of twists and turns.

Je vais bientôt lire The Return of the Native. (Le Retour au pays natal).

Il a aussi écrit The Woodlanders. ( Les forestiers).

I am going to read The Return of the Native soon.
