Escapade en Normandie
A trip to Normandy
You know the expression "the cherry on the cake". That is what it was, exactly. Whereas the holidays were nearly finished and the countdown had started, we went to spend a few days in Normandy, visiting the family.
The garden was beautiful, I kept walking in it, holding my camera.
The pond was full of water lilies.
The dahlias looked nice against the deep blue of the swimming pool and there was a mini pond at the far end of the garden.
The grapes were deliciously ripe.
I was lucky enough to go to the Pépinières de Bavent, in Louvigny. It is a beautiful nursery, the decoration department is nearly as nice as the shops in Belgium.
Can you guess what Mr LPC gave me as a present? (answer in the next post).
In Caen (the weather was beautiful), I managed to go to my favourite bookshop: Frérot, rue Froide.
I particularly like the first floor, there is a tea room and restaurant... It is my favourite bookshop because...
... the shelves on the left hand side are full of second hand books in English!

We had a nice August day in Deauville. Can you see my husband, wearing only shorts and a t-shirt? He is used to the Normandy weather, that is where he comes from! (Note that there is a jumper on his shoulders, though!)
"One cloud, as large as a continent, was voyaging near the sun, whilst other clouds seemed anchored to the horizon, too lazy or too happy to move" (E.M. Forster, The Longest Journey)
I managed to take a few photos in spite of the wind... that was blowing my hair in my face and I could hardly see...
Some people are very brave. (Come on, my husband, I am only joking!)
I know somebody who saw Sandrine Kiberlain at the île de Ré. Well, as for me, I saw the barrier of James Ivory in Deauville, ah James Ivory, my favourite film director!
Pour finir, une petite halte à Honfleur.
To finish, a short stop in Honfleur.
Vive la Normandie! (Ceux qui me connaissent savent que bien sûr, j'adore!)
Long live Normandy! (If you know me well, you surely know that I love Normandy)
